Following the annual Hopkinsville Christmas Parade Saturday evening, the community had a chance to vote for their favorite float with the WKDZ/WHVO People’s Choice Award.
The award which was given to the group with the most votes after a seven-hour voting window went to Heritage Bank. Heritage Bank embraced the Songs of Christmas parade theme by building a float based on the popular holiday movie, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. With the win, Heritage Bank received a $500 cash prize.
Rogers Group came in second place with a “Blue Christmas” themed float and Hopkinsville Community College was in third with the “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Year Degree” float.
People who attended the parade were able to text their favorite float number to the WKDZ/WHVO texting hotline and voting was calculated with the winner announced shortly before noon Monday.
