Two Hopkinsville residents were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on Lafayette Road at Leland Circle Monday morning.
According to Hopkinsville Police, 66-year old Charlie Mayes was stopped in traffic waiting to turn onto Leland Circle when her SUV was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 72-year old Larry Rogers. The impact pushed Mayes’ vehicle into a ditch on the west side of the road where it hit a sewer pipe sticking out of the ground.
Mayes and Rogers were transported by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.
