Motorists traveling eastbound on Interstate 24 in Trigg County need to be aware of a lane restriction beginning Monday to allow concrete pavement repairs.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesmen Keith Todd says traffic will be restricted to one lane and moved to the left-hand or passing lane between the 62 and 64-mile markers, about three miles west of the Cadiz-Hopkinsville Exit 65. He notes there are three concrete slabs along this section that need to be replaced.

Motorists need to use caution where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway near traffic flow. Todd adds motorists should also be alert for slowing and merging traffic as well as trucks hauling materials into and out of the work zone.

The work zone is expected to remain in place until around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon.
