Sheriff Leavell And Magistrates Say Good-Bye To Fiscal Court

**Christian County Sheriff Livy Leavell**

Christian County’s sheriff and two of the three outgoing magistrates said their goodbyes during Tuesday morning’s fiscal court meeting.

After four decades in law enforcement, Sheriff Livy Leavell says it has been a blessing to serve as an elected official.

Sheriff Leavell thanked everyone on fiscal court and said he and Sheriff-Elect Tyler DeArmond are working on a smooth transition.

Magistrate David Collins, who was defeated in the November general election by Jerry Gilliam, was absent from the meeting.

A swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected magistrates Gilliam, Maggie Ferguson, and Philip Peterson, as well as DeArmond will be held in a couple of weeks.
