A longtime employee of the Kentucky New Era will be the next President and CEO of the Hopkinsville-Christian County YMCA.
YMCA Chief Volunteer Officer Spencer Killijan announced Wednesday morning that Sheryl Ellis will be next leader of the YMCA. Ellis will begin her duties January 7, 2019.
Ellis previouly worked for the Kentucky New Era for 30 years, with her most recent position Vice-President and General Manager. She received her degree in business management from Austin Peay State University.
Killijan said the YMCA is pleased to welcome Ellis to the Hopkinsville-Christian County YMCA. He adds Ellis is well-known throughout the community, and brings a broad set of skills developed throughout her career.
Sheryl and her husband, Kenneth, have one child, Colton, who works at Farm Credit Services.
