The Department of Defense announced Friday that Major General Brian E. Winski is the new commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell. Major Winski replaces Major General Andrew Poppas, who has been the commanding general at Fort Campbell since January 2017.
According to a release, Major Winski was previously the chief legislative liaison for the Office of Secretary of the Army in Washington D.C. and before that he was the deputy commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Major Winski previously served with the 101st Airborne Division from August 2008 through July 2009.
