The Kentucky Department of Local Government says the Trigg County Ambulance Taxing District is now in compliance after not filing required reports by the deadline earlier this year.
According to the Department of Local Government, the Trigg County Ambulance Taxing District failed to file the 2018 budget amendments and year-end actuals. The original deadline to file was June, with a secondary deadline of September.
A staff member with the Kentucky Department of Local Government told the News Edge Wednesday, December 26, the required budget amendments and year-end actuals were filed with the department Thursday, December 20. With the filing last Thursday, the ambulance taxing district is now in compliance.
Trigg County Hospital Administrator John Sumner says the request for the information from the Department of Local Government was sent to an email account of a former employee that is now closed. Sumner adds the problem was corrected and the budget amendment and year-end actuals were filed within two hours of the time the hospital received the notice.
The Department of Local Government filed a notice in the Cadiz Record noting the non-compliance and failure to submit information. The notice also said funding to the Trigg County Ambulance Taxing District would be withheld until the district became compliant.
The Department of Local Government staff member said after the filing of the documents, the hold on funding to the Ambulance Taxing District has been lifted.
The Ambulance Taxing District was created earlier this year to help assist in funding the operation of Trigg County Hospital.
