Trigg County Hospital is seeing some recovery from a drastic Medicare holdback in 2017.

According to Sumner, the hospital saw the largest volume of patients they had ever seen between May 1, 2016, and April 30, 2017, which caused a problem with Medicare.

The 2018 fiscal year proved to be better for the hospital.

Even though the hospital received this good news, Sumner says they are still in a major financial struggle. He says the tax enacted is ensuring the hospital can make payroll and continue to meet other financial expenses.
