A group in Elkton has filed a petition requesting a wet/dry vote be put on the ballot for the May Primary in order to make the sale of alcoholic beverages legal in the city.
Todd County Standard Publisher Ryan Craig says the petition was organized by “Make Elkton Wet” and is currently circulating around Elkton.

Craig notes there have been at least two or three wet/dry votes for the City of Elkton in the past, but not in several years. He adds the City of Trenton recently voted to remain dry and the county continues to be dry. However, he says several years ago the General Assembly changed some legislation whereas smaller class cities could go wet inside their own city limits.
