A man was injured during a two-vehicle accident on East 9th Street Sunday evening.
Hopkinsville Police report 51-year old Michael Pettway of Hopkinsville was traveling on a motorcycle behind a car driven by 36-year old Keith Hines of Hopkinsville. Hines was attempting to make a right turn into a parking lot when Pettway’s motorcycle collided into the passenger side of the vehicle.
When officers arrived on the scene, Pettway was conscious and alert but complained of whole left side body pain. He was reportedly wearing a helmet but it came off during the collision and was found nearly 20 feet away from him. Pettway was transported by ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center helipad and flown to Skyline Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
