Cayce Mill Celebrates Century Of Service

Cayce Mill is celebrating a century of serving the plumbing, electrical and industrial product needs of Western Kentucky.

Cayce Mill Supply Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary during 2019. Fifth generation owners B.J. Cayce, the CEO, and Bart Cayce, the company president, oversee the business with guidance from their father Breck Cayce.

B.J. Cayce says it’s hard to believe they have been in business for 100 years

He adds there have been lots of things that have contributed to the success of the business.

The company is headquartered in a 180,000 square foot facility in Hopkinsville. The business serves customers in Hopkinsville, Russellville, Owensboro, and Mayfield. The company employees more than 90 people at their locations.

Breck Cayce’s great-grandfather, Clinton Cayce, established the company in Hopkinsville in December 1919 and initially sold supplies to grain mills, sawmills and farmers. Next in the family line of owners was Granville Cayce, Sr., and his son Granville, Jr., who was Breck’s father.

Cayce Mill’s longevity is rare. It is estimated that less than 3 percent of family-owned American businesses remain in the same family into the fourth generation and beyond.

In the years to come, Cayce says they plan to continue to grow and be great community partners. He says they hope to continue to keep Cayce Mills going on into the sixth generation.
