The man sought by authorities in connection to a fatal shooting on Bethel Street Thursday morning is in police custody.
Hopkinsville Police Public Information Officer Mike Atkins tells the News Edge 26-year-old Shakkory Willis turned himself in Monday morning.
21-year-old James Yates and 20-year-old Lane Carter were charged Thursday with first-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. Three Hopkinsville juveniles were also charged for their alleged involvement in this incident.
Two juveniles were charged with first-degree complicity to robbery and the third juvenile is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and possession of a forged instrument.
According to Hopkinsville Police, a woman called dispatch Thursday morning and reported her brother 19-year-old Dylan Stewart had been shot in the leg at a home on Bethel Street. When police arrived they found a second person 20-year-old Corvyan Thomas who was shot three times and was unresponsive. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner. Police said Stewart was rushed to Jennie Stuart Medical Center then taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ambulance.
The home is located on Bethel Street between West 20th Street and West 19th Street.
