Christian County High School and the Christian County Chamber of Commerce kicked off the Mental Mapping Mentor Program Monday morning.
Eleven students gathered in the library to learn more about careers in the military. Former Marine and Christian County Jailer Brad Boyd, Airforce Staff Sergeant Tyler Carr, Army Sergeant First Class Greg Curry, and Marine Corp. Staff Sergeant Robert Fritch spoke to the students for well over an hour and answered numerous questions asked.
Chamber Director of Workforce and Education Development Angie Major tells the News Edge the program is currently in the pilot stage and will soon be implemented at Hopkinsville High School. The program’s directive is to help students decide what their next step is following graduation.

Students must sign up to be a part of the Mental Mapping Mentor Program, but all students are getting exposure as to what the program is by watching videos every morning.

Christian County High School recently started the ‘Get Real, Get Ready’ initiative in order to become a Work Ready high school, according to Major. The program will continue to provide career coaching as well as small group discussions to assists students in their chosen post-graduation pathway. Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 will be able to participate in the activities involving the pathway they would like to be in following graduation.
