The Christian County Grand Jury returned numerous indictments Friday including individuals charged with theft of autos, fleeing or evading police, and assault.
The grand jury indicted Geovantae Poindexter of Hopkinsville on multiple charges including theft by unlawful taking over $500 – auto, first degree, and second degree fleeing or evading police, and fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. A warrant states the charges stem from November 22, 2018, when Poindexter came to the victim’s place of employment and assaulted her causing minor injury and then fled the scene in a vehicle. Police say Poindexter and the victim have a child in common. Officers responding to the scene saw Poindexter’s vehicle on Commerce Court and gave pursuit, with Poindexter’s vehicle reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. The vehicle pursuit ended on Fort Campbell Boulevard after police say Poindexter crashed his car into a utility pole. He then fled on foot but was shortly apprehended by officers. Police reported they also learned the vehicle Poindexter was driving was taken from a female vaguely acquainted with Poindexter on Facebook.
51-year old Kevin Bradburn of Lake Village, Indiana was indicted for theft by unlawful taking over $500 – auto, and theft by unlawful taking under $500. According to the warrant, Bradburn borrowed his estranged wife’s vehicle in July 2018 and took it to Indiana and refused to return it. He allegedly threatened to harm her if she reported it to law enforcement.
The grand jury indicted 39-year old Richard Wall, Jr. of Oak Grove on charges of first degree fleeing or evading police, third-degree burglary, and possession of burglary tools. On November 26, 2018, Oak Grove Police reported officers were dispatched to the Pilot at Exit 89 of Interstate 24 regarding a subject trying to enter vehicles. Officers reportedly found Wall in possession of a blue crowbar that he admitted taking from the Pilot’s tool shed. When police learned Wall was wanted on two warrants, officers said he ran across KY 115 into busy traffic and was apprehended. Once at the jail, staff found Wall in possession fo a set of bump key blanks reportedly used to illegally enter vehicles.
22-year old Jessie James Williams, III, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of third-degree assault of a police officer, and second degree fleeing or evading police after he allegedly punched an officer in the face on November 28, 2018, outside of 607 Hammond Plaza, causing injuries to the officer. Williams then reportedly fled on foot across the parking lot but was apprehended and arrested a short time later.
The grand jury also indicted 33-year old Steven Dale Hodge and 31-year old Amy Juanita Hodge, of Hopkinsville, for knowingly receiving stolen property under $10,000, second degree fleeing or evading police and other offenses. Hopkinsville Police arrested the on December 5, 2018, in connection to stealing a pickup truck from a deceased woman’s driveway on Mohawk Trail. Officers spotted the couple in the truck and they pulled into a gravel lot on East 9th Street and stopped. The couple reportedly jumped out and ran but were apprehended by officers.
And John W. Jones was indicted for failure to comply with sex offender registration after in August 2018 the warrant says the address he provided as a residence had been vacant for over one year and he failed to notify the Office of Probation and Parole of his change of address.
