The House Education Committee approved an amended version of Senate Bill 1, which relates to school safety.
District 5 Representative Larry Elkins, who serves portions of Calloway and Trigg counties says the legislation would help get resources to schools to make them safer.

Elkins adds the School Safety Act is expected to receive a vote in the House of Representatives in the next few days.
