Forecasters are continuing to monitor a potential winter weather event early Sunday morning across the region that will leave cold temperatures behind it.
During a conference call Friday afternoon, Lead Forecaster Dan Spaeth says current models show the Pennyrile region of western Kentucky seeing minor accumulations.

He notes the event will start out as rain late Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Temperatures are expected to get bitterly cold by Sunday night.

According to Spaeth, wind chills by Monday morning will be in the single digits, with highs not climbing above freezing until Wednesday afternoon.
