Following the shooting on February 18, Officer Davidson was taken to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville after the suspect, later identified as Keith Kuzyk of Clarksville opened fire on his police cruiser with an AR-15 assault rifle. Kuzyk and three others were arrested later that day in Hopkinsville and Clarksville. Officer Davidson was released from the hospital the following day and welcomed back to Hopkinsville with a police escort.
