Bomb Threat Investigated At Caldwell County Courthouse

Activities in downtown Princeton were disrupted Tuesday afternoon following a bomb threat at the Caldwell County Courthouse.

Judge Executive Larry Curling says that the courthouse received multiple threatening calls on Tuesday morning just before eleven and officials decided to err on the side of caution.

Caldwell County Sheriff Stan Hudson says that the courthouse was evacuated and several roads around the Courthouse Square were blocked off while bomb-sniffing dogs from Kentucky State Police and the Owensboro Police Department searched the courthouse.

He adds that all businesses in the immediate area were also evacuated and people were kept off the sidewalks while law enforcement investigated.

Sheriff Hudson says the investigation determined there was an unsubstantiated bomb threat and the courthouse was given the all-clear around 2:30 PM. Downtown streets were re-opened to traffic after the all-clear.

The incident is being investigated by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police. They were assisted at the scene by the Princeton Fire Department and the Princeton Public Works Department.
