Two Trigg County High School students are working hard to create a product that could save numerous lives.
Engineering teacher Lori Ricks says junior Cade Bleidt and senior Grace Knight will spend a day next week presenting the product to up to five judges at the Kentucky Lieutenant Governor’s entrepreneurship challenge.
She adds both have had a short amount of time to bring everything together for the competition.

Knight notes the product will be used for seniors citizens and others who are at a high risk for falling and other health issues.

Bleidt adds the product will utilize technology that will allow the bracelet to communicate with first responders and family members without having to use a cell phone tower, which is important because there are still several areas in the county that do not have cell service.
The plus side to their product is it will have a one-time fee to purchase and set up, unlike other products currently on the market like Life Alert which require a cost for the necklace and a monthly fee.
After the presentation to Cadiz Rotary Club members, Ricks asked Rotarians to critique it and give suggestions on how to make it shorter, as it was three minutes over the time limit allowed for the competition.
The product idea was presented during the Tuesday afternoon meeting of the rotary club inside the Johnson Tyler Community Center located on Lincoln Street in Cadiz.
