The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library has announced new hours of operation.
Executive Director DeeAnn Sova says the change is an effort to have consistent hours for the library’s patrons. She notes programming for weekly events will be adjusted to reflect the new hours. She notes check-outs at the library average over 9600 items monthly, including books, audiobooks, and DVDs. She adds monthly visits by patrons continues to grow with the average for the 2018/19 fiscal year being 13,300.
Sova says the continued growth of youth and adult program participation has increased 59% over the 2017/18 fiscal year. She says they hope the implementation of consistent hours will make it easier for the community to utilize services offered at the library without having to remember what time it opens and closes on any given day. She hopes the hours can be expanded in the future as the need continues to grow.
The new hours will be:
Monday-Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
