UPDATE- Two Severely Injured After High-Speed Pursuit In Crofton

Police have released more information about a high-speed pursuit that ended in a crash on Kentucky 800 in Crofton Monday night.

Kentucky State Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle on Pennyrile Parkway at the 20-mile marker southbound just after 8 pm for no tail lights. The driver, 29-year-old Gary Boyd Jr. of Nashville, fled at speeds of over 100 mph.

Boyd then turned around in the median at the 15-mile marker and began to travel northbound before exiting onto Kentucky 800 where the vehicle became airborne and ran off the road, causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle came to a rest on its side and the passenger, a 17-year old woman from Evansville, Indiana, had to be extricated by the Christian County Rescue Team.

State police say the man and teenager were flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they are both in stable condition.
Boyd is facing multiple charges as the investigation continues.
