Hopkinsville Soap Box Derby Race Day Moved To May

The Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club is gearing up for their annual Soap Box Derby race day which will be held a little earlier this year.

Co-Race Director Annie Catron tells the News Edge they have moved the day of racing to Saturday, May 18.

Locally, children can earn a ticket to race Akron, Ohio in the All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship. During the Akron competition, students can earn scholarships to help fund their higher education.

The races take place on Bethel Street hill next to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.
