An inmate who escaped the Caldwell County Jail is back in custody after turning himself in early Tuesday morning.
Princeton Police Chief Chris King says that officers were notified just after five of an escapee from the Caldwell County Jail. 39-year-old Billy A. Poe reportedly had obtained a key and escaped through the side door at the jail.
Chief King adds that at about 5:20 dispatch received a call that Poe was at a residence on North Eagle Street in Princeton wanting to turn himself in.
Poe was then taken into custody and charged with escape second degree and theft by unlawful taking under $500.
He was then lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
