Children’s Advocacy Center Discusses Sexual Abuse At Annual Breakfast

The Pennyrile Children’s Advocacy Center (PCAC) spoke about their experiences while working with youth who have been sexually abused during their 4th annual breakfast fundraiser Tuesday morning.

Todd County Sheriff’s Deputy Tracey Mayberry says the cases involving children are extremely difficult.

CPAC Board President Kirstie Darnall notes they are hoping to train 1,000 members of the community in the “5 Steps to Protecting Children” within the next year.
Barnett says the training is free and teaches adults what to do in the case of a sexual abuse case.

right-click to download mp3Medical Unit Coordinator Debbie Outland presented Sarah Flynn with the Phillip Meacham Believer Award. Program Coordinator and Victim Advocate Clara Butler gave the Community Partner Award to All Kleen Services.

The breakfast was held at the Holiday Inn in Hopkinsville and serves as one of the largest fundraisers for the organization.
