The best Christian County Public School teachers and staff were recognized during an annual reception held Tuesday evening.
Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill says the event is a way to show off the best of the nearly 2,000 employees that work within the school district.
During the award presentation, Gemmill presented the first ever Spirit Award for Service Excellence to Karen Greene, a staff member at Christian County High School.
The Staff of the Year award was presented to Ronald Gager, an employee of Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary. With the Teacher of the Year award going to Christian County Middle School teacher Brandi Majors.
The dinner and award presentation was held at the Naimoli Estate on Harmony Grove Road and was hosted by the Christian County Chamber of Commerce.
