Hopkinsville Man Takes Plea Deal In Arson Case

A Hopkinsville man charged with setting fire to an apartment complex last year has reached a plea agreement with the Commonwealth.

A jury trial was scheduled to start in Christian Circuit Court Thursday morning in the case against Jerome Catlett who is charged with first-degree arson and nine counts of first-degree wanton endangerment in connection to the fire that occurred at the Moores Court Apartments on Moores Drive on May 31, 2018. Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling says Catlett set the fire after an argument.

As part of the plea deal, Catlett was sentenced to 20 years.

Catlett will be back in Christian Circuit Court for formal sentencing on August 28th.
