Stormy weather held off early Thursday afternoon for the annual National Day of Prayer at the Trigg County Justice Center.
During the event, community members gathered to pray for troops, elected officials, Trigg County schools, and for unity.
District 1 State Senator Stan Humphries says all the senators pray every time they caucus in Frankfort.
East Cadiz Baptist Church Pastor Joe Johnson notes the purpose of the event is to pray for America and the churches in it and to pray for all ethnicities and that we all love God.
