An Auburn man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Cave Springs Road in Logan County Sunday afternoon.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Department reports deputies responded to the crash in the 4200 block around 2:20 and determined 53-year old Mark McLean was driving northbound when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the vehicle. Deputies say the car then ran off the left side of the road, hit a large tree and some smaller trees, before coming to rest down a steep embankment. McLean was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies say McLean’s passenger, 19-year old Ethan Hunter of Adairville was severely injured and had to be extracted from the car. he was flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville where he is listed in critical condition.
