The Pennyrile Area Development District (PADD) Board of Directors declared May as Older Americans Month during their Monday afternoon meeting.
Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living Chairwoman Margaret Gilliland presented the proclamation to board members.
In other business, members voted to approve a Legal Services Procurement for the Agency on Aging and Independent Living. Aging Planner and In-Home Services Manager Amanda Stokes says they released it in mid-February.

During the meeting, other board members presented updates on the 2020 U.S. Census and work going on in the region to prepare for it and a workforce board update.
PADD board members will host their 50th annual dinner meeting on Monday evening, June 10 at the James E. Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville.
