The Hopkinsville Police Department will be participating in the “Hands Across the Border” checkpoint and saturation on Friday.
Public Information Officer Mike Atkins says officers will join several agencies from across Christian County and Montgomery County, Tennessee to encourage motorist to slow down, buckle up and don’t drink and drive with the goal of saving lives. According to Atkins, this year officers will be conducting high visibility DUI patrols with an emphasis on occupant safety laws as well as a traffic safety checkpoint.
The traffic safety checkpoint will take place at the Kentucky-Tennessee state line on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
