The former Army major at Fort Campbell accused in the 2015 triple murder in Pembroke appeared for his arraignment in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning.
Christian “Kit” Martin is charged with three counts of Murder, 1st Degree Arson and other charges in connection to the November 2015 deaths of his neighbors, Calvin and Pamela Phillips, and Edward Dansereau.
The families of the victims were in the courtroom as Martin and his defense attorney, Michael Thompson of Hopkinsville, and Assistant Attorney General Jon Heck appeared before Judge John Atkins. Thompson entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his client.
Judge Atkins said the prosecutors have 30 days to file discovery with the defense.
Martin was indicted on May 12 and was arrested at the Louisville International Airport the following morning. He was living in North Carolina and working for American Airlines as a pilot.
The indictment stems from events that occurred on or around November 18, 2015, in which Calvin Phillips was found shot to death in his home at 443 South Main Street, in Pembroke. The bodies of his wife, Pamela, and their neighbor, Dansereau were found in a burned out car, owned by Pam Phillips, in a cornfield on Rosetown Road, a few miles from the victim’ homes.
Judge Atkins scheduled Martin to be back in court for a pretrial conference on July 10 at 11:00 a.m.
