This is National Emergency Medical Services Week, a week set aside to celebrate EMS workers and the important work they do in our communities.
Prior to the Hopkinsville City Council meeting Tuesday night, Mayor Carter Hendricks and Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble gathered in Council Chambers to show their appreciation to the EMS workers that provide vital services for the city and county. Hendricks then presented a proclamation.
Tribble also read a portion of the proclamation.
Hendricks and Tribble then represented the proclamation to Hopkinsville Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery. They also encouraged the community to take time this week to recognize and thank the EMS workers.EMS Week was first observed in 1974 when President Gerald Ford authorized the week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s communities.
