Police have released the name of a man who led them on a pursuit from Nashville to Clarksville, who was reportedly heading to Christian County Tuesday night.

Clarksville Police say 25-year-old Duiel Campbell III was arrested after he wrecked during the pursuit around Lowes on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville. Campbell was found shortly after he fled on foot along with a gun in a woodline.

The pursuit started at the intersection of Clarksville Pike at Cliff Drive in Nashville after Campbell was seen by the Juvenile Crime Task Force. Law enforcement says during the pursuit a Coopertown Police Department officer attempted to stop Campbell from driving the wrong way on Interstate 24 by blocking the road but he continued driving in the direction of the officer. The officer fired a shot at the vehicle and hit Campbell before he struck the officer’s vehicle.

Campbell was reportedly wanted for questioning in a May 20th armed robbery of a man in the parking lot of his Bell Road apartment complex in Nashville.

Campbell was treated for a gunshot wound and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of reckless endangerment, evading arrest and driving on a revoked license.

Police placed residents near Needmore Road, Forrest Hills, Paddock Apartments and Union Hall on alert until they arrested Campbell.

Nashville Police was Montgomery County authorities, Coopertown Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and an MNPD helicopter.
