A Stableford Lane home was destroyed and a second was damaged in a fire that started Thursday afternoon.
Oak Grove Fire Department Deputy Chief Bill Laux said black smoke was coming from the home when they arrived and a neighbor was checking the home for occupants.
The siding on the home next door was also damaged by heat.
The neighbor was taken to the hospital by ambulance for possible smoke inhalation.
Laux said no one was home at the time of the fire and the cause remains unknown.
The home is located at 825 Stableford Lane. Oak Grove Fire Department was assisted by Pembroke and Fort Campbell fire departments.
