Former Band Director Arrested On Sex Charges Involving Student

The former Hopkinsville High School band director was arrested Wednesday on sex-related charges involving a former student.

Hopkinsville Police spokesman Officer Mike Atkins tells the News Edge Seth Peveler was taken into custody after an investigation into inappropriate conduct with a minor in 2017.

Peveler was booked into the Christian County Jail charged with third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. Peveler is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Christian County Public Schools’ spokesman John Rittenhouse tells us Peveler is no longer an employee of the school system. He would not comment on when Peveler’s employment ended or on what terms.
