Man Indicted For Alleged Sexual Abuse Of Teen On Church Bus

Several indictments were returned Friday by the Christian County Grand Jury including for a man who allegedly sexually abused a teenage girl on a church bus.

28-year old Tyler Frances of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree sexual abuse. The Hopkinsville Police Department arrested Frances on April 21 after he reportedly ripped off a 15-year old girl’s underwear on a church bus. Frances then allegedly touched her buttocks and used his fingers to sexually abuse her. Police said Frances admitted to touching the teenager’s private parts.

The grand jury indicted 21-year old Daniel Ian Hallberg of Clarksville for five counts of complicity to intimidating a participant in a legal process and five counts of complicity to tampering with physical evidence. The charges stem from March 26 when police say Halberg went to the home of a number of juveniles, intimidated and threatened them, demanding they destroy evidence on their phones from a group chat and that they do not cooperate with any police investigation. The arrest warrant says the incident arose out of another male juvenile’s threats about bringing a gun to school after spring break and shooting people at Hopkinsville High School.

And 33-year old Michael Wayne Robertson, Jr. of Hopkinsville was indicted for numerous offenses, including three counts of wanton endangerment, first-degree promoting contraband, and using restricted ammunition during a felony. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested Robertson on May 4 after he reportedly fired shots at three people on Billy Goat Hill Road and then fled the scene in a truck. When Robertson was stopped by deputies, they reportedly found a pipe, alcohol, and meth in the vehicle as well as a gun used in the shooting lying on the side of the road. During a search at the jail, more meth was found on Robertson.
