A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a traffic shift on the US 68/KY 80 Eggner’s Ferry Bridge at Aurora Monday afternoon.
The contractor plans to shift two-way traffic onto the westbound lanes of the bridge over Kentucky Lake starting this afternoon to allow the placement of an epoxy urethane waterproofing overlay along the eastbound lanes of the bridge deck.
This is expected to be the final round of work that started back in April.
This work along the eastbound lanes is expected to take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting. The contractor will also be completing waterproofing work along the eastbound lanes of the Lagoon Bridge along the western shoreline of Kentucky Lake.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on the US 68/KY 80 Eggner’s Ferry Bridge throughout the work.
Motorists should be aware of message boards and traffic control signage as they approach this work zone.
To improve safety in the work zone, the US 68/KY 80 intersection at the west end of the bridge corridor near Kenlake State Resort Park will continue to be a 4-Way Stop for the duration of the project.
