The Trigg County Board of Education announced Friday they have selected Tim McGinnis to serve as Acting Superintendent for the district.
Board chair Jo Alyce Harper tells the News Edge McGinnis is the perfect fit to serve until a permanent superintendent is selected.
McGinnis served as superintendent for ten years beginning in July of 2000 and lives in Cadiz with his wife Carrie.
She adds there is a lengthy process ahead to find the next leader of the district.
Harper notes action on an employment contract for McGinnis is scheduled to take place during their next meeting on Thursday, June 27.
His selection comes after Superintendent Travis Hamby announced he is resigning on July 1st to become the leader of the Allen County School District.
