The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entire region until 10:00 Friday night and a Flash Flood Watch for Christian, Hopkins, and Todd counties through Saturday morning.
Meteorologists say a line of thunderstorms is entering the region from the northwest. Some of the storms may be severe with the potential for damaging winds, hail, and torrential downpours.
Heavy rainfall is a concern across Christian, Hopkins, and Todd counties through the evening, with two to four inches of precipitation possible.
