Four Madisonville Residents Killed In Wheatcroft Collision

Four Madisonville residents were killed in a two vehicle wreck Saturday morning in Webster County.

Kentucky State Police report they received a call shortly before 9:20 to investigate a fatal collision in the 5000 block of State Route 109 North in Wheatcroft.

Preliminary investigation revealed 23-year old Eduardo Lopez was driving a car and hydroplaned into the southbound lane and collided with a pick up truck driven by 54-year old Charles Barron of Marion.

Charles and his wife Linda Barron were transported to Baptist Health in Madisonville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Lopez and his three passengers, Jorge Chavez, Miguel Brico, and Christina Chavez were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Webster County Coroner’s Office. The age of all three passengers are unknown and the investigation is ongoing by state police.

Sturgis Mayor Doug Rodgers reports all four worked at the Fiesta Acapulco Mexican Restaurant.
