Senator Humphries Appointed To Interim Task Force

The Senate Majority Caucus has announced its appointments to the 2019 General Assembly’s Interim Task Forces. First District State Senator Stan Humphries of Cadiz was appointed to serve as Co-Chairman of the Public Assistance Reform Task Force.

State officials say the group will study the potential effectiveness of a work-based, drug-free model for public assistance beneficiaries to replace the current system of administering Medicaid and food stamp benefits. The task force will submit its finding to the General Assembly no later than November 29.

Senator Humphries says he is pleased to serve as the co-chair of the task force and he looks forward to further serving the Commonwealth in this new role.

The first meeting of the task force will July 8 in Frankfort.
