Three Hopkinsville law enforcement dispatchers graduated Friday from the Public Safety Dispatch Academy at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training.
Taylor Adams, Jordan Kelly, and Jennifer Ashley Robison will be telecommunicators for the Hopkinsville Police Department. They were among eighteen graduates that completed five weeks of training that consisted of 205 hours of academy instruction to satisfy mandated training requirements. The areas of training include identifying the role and responsibilities of the dispatcher, correct phone and radio procedures, handling emergency and non-emergency calls for service, emergency medical dispatch protocols and use of the state and national criminal databases.
Officials indicate Adams and Kelly were among eleven recognized for trainees of distinction in the 126th telecommunications academy class.
The Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training first began in 1999 and is located on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University.
