Multiple agencies led the body of fallen Korean War veteran PFC James Williams to a Christian County funeral home Wednesday afternoon.
PFC Williams was 19-years old when he was killed in action in Korea on Jully 20, 1950. He was previously buried as a Korean War Unknown in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii. After an exhaustive investigation, Williams was successfully identified in 2018.
Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted with Williams funeral services. His body arrived at the Nashville International Airport Wednesday morning and escorted to the funeral home in Hopkinsville in preparation for graveside services at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery-West with full military honors Friday afternoon at 1:00.
Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home invites anyone who would like to pay respect to the this fallen hero, the opportunity to pick up an American Flag in Williams’ honor at the funeral home on Country Club Lane and take part in his services by displaying the flags along the procession route.
The procession will begin at noon Friday, leaving the funeral home and going east on Country Club Lane to Fort Campbell Boulevard. The procession will then proceed south on the boulevard to the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery-West.
