Motorists who travel Kentucky 115/Pembroke-Oak Grove Road at the north edge of Oak Grove need to be aware a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to pave the road in the overnight hours to help minimize traffic snarls.

Officials say the nighttime paving project will begin Monday along the Pembroke-Oak Grove Road, immediately south of I-24 between Walter Garrett Lane and the Pilot Travel Center. The paving will occur nightly between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter work zone lane restrictions along this section of the road at the north edge of Oak Grove. Even though the paving will be done in the overnight hours, officials note some congestion likely due to heavy truck traffic around the I-24 Pembroke-Oak Grove Exit 89 interchange.

The work zone will be active during the overnight hours through about Saturday, August 10, weather permitting.

Rogers Group is the prime contractor on this more than $625,000 highway improvement project.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Motorists should also use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the road near traffic flow.
