Kentucky Wired Continuing To Improve Internet Across The State

Kentucky Wired, a project which will bring high-speed internet to all counties in the Commonwealth, is fully underway.

Government and Resident Relations Manager Holly Scoville shared an update on the project during Monday’s Pennyrile Area Development District meeting.

She notes the project is huge.

Scoville adds this will put the state at the top when it comes to offering high-speed internet services for its residents.

The project is currently in the first phase, which includes local crews doing the make-ready work.

Scoville says the lines being installed feature several channels for fiber internet, with half of them to help state services.

The Kentucky Wired project, which began in 2015, has already completed all work in the Louisville and Frankfort areas, with some areas in eastern Kentucky to be completed within the next week.
