Funding for a new school for Fort Campbell’s Mahaffey Middle School campus has reportedly been diverted to help pay for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
CBS News reports over $62-million in funding that was slated to build the much needed middle school. Among other things diverted included grants for military construction projects to renovate or replace facilities in Puerto Rico that were damaged by Hurricane Maria.
On Wednesday, Defense Secretary Mark Esper approved to divert $3.6 billion in military construction funding for the wall.
