Officials from Trigg County Hospital were on hand Monday evening during the Trigg County Fiscal Court meeting to discuss improvements and how they stand financially.
Hospital CEO John Sumner told magistrates they have made cuts since 2015 that have saved them lots of money.
Among other cuts, Sumner adds they have also been able to make cuts in AR days, which pertains to billing after a hospital visit.
In improvements for the hospital, Sumner notes the Primary Care Clinic yearly visits have doubled.
Numerous departments in the hospital have seen increases in patients since 2015.
Chief Financial Officer Don Michaels says the first three months of fiscal year 2020 are showing more improvements for them.
Both Michaels and Sumner agree the hospital has a long way to go.
Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander thanked everyone at Trigg County Hospital for all they do for the community.
The Ambulance Taxing District was approved by magistrates during the August 13, 2018 meeting. The tax imposed an additional 10-cent per $100 tax on all real estate and personal property in Trigg County and provides the hospital over $1.5-million yearly.
