U.S. Senator Rand Paul says the United States needs to focus more on people than gun control.
Paul tells the News Edge he is horrified by the shootings that have occurred recently.
He says a Nikolas Cruz, a student at Stoneman Douglas High School, had committed 23 crimes before killing 17 people and injuring 17 others at the school last year.
Paul adds a father of one of the victims recently published an essay concerning the school shooting.
He says authorities need to catch the people before the horrific crimes are committed.
Paul spoke on a few nationwide issues on the WKDZ Country Club Monday morning.
