The Cadiz/Trigg County Parks and Recreation board discussed ways to improve baseball fields at the Trigg County Recreation Complex during a special called meeting Monday afternoon.
Parks and Recreation Director Jeff Hunter tells the News Edge the board looked at some estimates they received to renovate the fields. He adds some of the fields have draining issues.
Board members agreed to wait on one more estimate that is expected to be completed Tuesday, before deciding on who to pick for the project. Another special called meeting could be called to award a bid and get some of the most utilized fields renovated.
In other action, members tabled a vote until the next meeting to nominate a new board chairman. Not all members were present during the meeting. This comes after former chairman Brian Ahart stepped down from the board earlier this year. Angie Reynolds was nominated by Cadiz City Council to serve the rest of Ahart’s term, which expires in 2021.
