Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks announced Wednesday the members of the 2019 City Diplomat Program.
According to officials, the City received 46 applications to fill fifteen slots in the inaugural program, which provides participants the opportunity to learn more about municipal government through service, promotion, and volunteerism.
Mayor Hendricks says they are very excited to work with the inaugural class of the City Diplomats. He adds they are thrilled so many individuals applied to learn more about their city in an effort to help improve the community. Hendricks says they are confident the participants will enjoy their experience while learning about city government and community living.
The first fifteen applicants were selected to participate and officials indicate the remaining applicants were placed on a waiting list for future sessions. Classes will be held once a month from October through March 2020.
